Dr. Purnesh Seegopaul is a General Partner at Pangaea Ventures, a venture capital company focused on advanced materials commercialization. He previously held executive level positions in large enterprises, led startup companies in the energy, electronics and environmental markets and pioneered the commercialization of nanostructured materials. He is now applying his expertise and entrepreneurial passion to further advancement of advanced materials technologies with world-class emerging companies. Currently, he is a Director on the Boards of CNano Technology, Calysta Inc., and Envia Systems. He received his B.Sc. from the University of Guyana, Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia where he was a Commonwealth Scholar and completed his post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Delaware.

Peter Gajdoš is a Portfolio Manager at CMEA Capital. Peter manages CMEA’s venture portfolio of 50 companies with primary focus on energy and materials investments. He is a Board Member at CNano Technology and Reel Solar and also a Board Observer at Wildcat Discovery Technologies, Arcadia Biosciences, Ensemble Biosciences, Auspex Pharmaceuticals and Neos Therapeutics. Peter also manages CMEA’s successful publicly listed holdings including Intermolecular (Nasdaq: IMI) and Tetraphase Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: TTPH). Prior to CMEA, Peter worked with Silver Lake Kraftwerk, Warburg Pincus and Virgin Green Fund where he invested in energy, resources and material science companies. Peter is particularly interested in promising technologies and innovative business models in solar, material sciences and additive manufacturing.
Peter has an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with concentration in finance and entrepreneurial management and an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has also studied in Netherlands and Slovakia. Peter has been involved in several non-profit initiatives in Slovakia, Haiti and the U.S. assisting in solving educational, disaster recovery and environmental issues.

Jimmy Lu is the Executive Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of the WI Harper Group, a venture firm managing $750M in committed capital. From offices in Beijing, Taipei and San Francisco, WI Harper seeks to invest in leading technology companies in the TMT, Cleantech and Healthcare sectors in Greater China and the U.S. Jimmy oversees WI Harper’s global operations and brings to the firm over 20 years of high technology and venture capital experience. In addition to serving on the CNano board of directors, he also currently serves on the boards of Quixey, Inc., China Diagnostics Medical Corporation, Kindstar Global Co. and StemCyte Inc. Prior to joining WI Harper, Jimmy co-founded and was a General Partner of iD Ventures America (formerly Acer Technology Ventures), which manages numerous funds, including Acer Technology Venture Fund and IP Fund One. The funds were early investors in iRobot Corporation (NASDAQ: IRBT), Harmonix Music (acquired by MTV/Viacom; NYSE: VIA), Monolithic Power Systems (NASDAQ: MPWR) and Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT). Jimmy joined the Acer Group, a leading worldwide technology company, in 1992, and as General Counsel worked closely with senior management to negotiate and structure the Acer Group’s international joint ventures, strategic alliances, acquisitions, global financings and commercial transactions. He assisted in establishing Acer’s first international venture capital fund, Fund 21 Limited. Before joining Acer, Jimmy was with Bingham McCutchen in San Francisco, specializing in M&A and venture transactions, debt and equity financings and public securities work. Prior to that, he spent several years as a banker with JP Morgan in New York City. Jimmy has been a panelist or speaker at conferences sponsored by international business and legal organizations and has guest lectured and presented at Yale, Harvard, Stanford and Wharton. Jimmy earned a B.A. from Yale College, an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). He is currently the Vice-Chair of the Association of Yale Alumni and an Associate Fellow of Trumbull College. Benjamin holds a Master in Technology Management from the Sloan School of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University Missouri, Columbia.

Dr. Eric Wang has over 18 years of experience in venture capital investment, investment banking and equity research. Previously, Dr. Wang was a Managing Director at WK Technology Fund, leading investments in semiconductors, networking and software in Silicon Valley, USA and the greater China. Before becoming a venture capitalist, Dr. Wang was the Global Head of Semiconductor Research at ABN AMRO Bank. Dr. Wang holds a Ph.D. in Engineering-Economic Systems and Operations from Stanford University, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Hawaii and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Taiwan Tsing Hua University.

Dr. Tao Zheng has many years of industrial experience in battery technology and business management. Before joining CNano, Dr. Zheng was President of A123 Systems (China) Limited, one of the world's leading suppliers of high-power Li-ion batteries for automobile, power grid and power tool applications. Dr. Zheng established A123 Systems (China) Limited. Before joining A123 Systems, he was Founder and President of PowerGenie, one of the earliest Lithium ion battery cathode material providers in China. Dr. Zheng was also Founder and CTO of Voltix Technologies. Dr. Zheng was Research Scientist at Telcordia (formerly Bellcore), where he engaged in development of plastic Lithium ion batteries after his Ph.D. in Physics from Simon Fraser University, Canada.
